From Wikipedia:

I see people on here who say things because i dont think they understand at all. some do, some dont. i think maybe this will help people get a better grip on what we believe in, and see that we arent a group of people who are unpatriotic, hate america, and support terrorism...because that only shows the ignorance a lot of americans have about politics...

Libertarianism is a political philosophy advocating that individuals should be free to do whatever they wish with their person or property, as long as they do not infringe on the same liberty of others. Libertarians hold as a fundamental maxim that all human interaction should be voluntary and consensual. They maintain that the initiation (or threat) of physical force against another person or his property, or the commission of fraud, is a violation of that principle. Some libertarians regard all initiation of force as immoral, whereas others support a limited government that engages in the minimum amount of initiatory force (such as minimal taxation and regulation) that they believe necessary to ensure maximum individual freedom (negative liberty). Force is not opposed when used in retaliation for initiatory aggressions such as trespassing or violence. Libertarians favor an ethic of self-responsibility and strongly oppose the welfare state, because they believe forcing someone to provide aid to others is ethically wrong, ultimately counter-productive, or both.

Libertarianism is a philosophy that doesn't believe in following the rules, and intead prefers to post articles and pretend they're questions. Lemme add that to the definition in Wikipedia after I'm done reporting you.

I am a Republican Liberal so let me give you an opinion. What would you do if a man held down your two year old daughter and raped her? One man killed the attacker and as a parent I would do the same, would you forgive him? and then have the courage to look into the eyes of that little girl to justify your actions. The amount of people living below the poverty line in this country is rising would you allow their children to starve in order to prevent a welfare state or do you find a way to stop it before it turns to that stage? That is the problem with your Libertarianism, it sees a Utopia and it becomes the only thing that it focuses on, there are too many variables in the world to live or expect other people to live that way. What this principal proposes is the unethical act of taking away a person's right to choose, think, act and react to their surroundings and to those who might destroy it or use it fraudulently. People who live with a balance of compassion, sincerity, honesty, and truthfulness are what every political party should strive for in my opinion it would go much farther in achieving success than what you have proposed.

I consider myself a Libertarian although I am a registered Republican. I vote Republican since the Republicans come closer than the Democrats to the philosophy. I believe it is better to get some of what you want rather than nothing.

I think the Libertarians would fare better but it is a widely held perception that the party is just a front for legalizing drugs, the party has done little to counteract this.

It would be nice if a libertarian had a chance of actually wining a national election

It isn't worth the trouble.

The hard left has never learned to think and want to make sure that you can't either. The hard right can't take their eyes off God and want to make sure you can't either.
