Wow, that's a fantastic question. I'm not sure I have an answer.

I mean, if you are going to die anyways, what's the point?
Any legacy you leave behind will be a child or two.
Having an impact on the world doesn't really need an education ~ you could be an actor and only need to know how to read.
Most of our heros in history, I doubt they had much of an education.
And who wants to make an impact or be a hero, not me!

Of course, you can't help but learn some things ... and somethings are learned the hard way -- like don't poke a big dog in the butt with a stick.

I don't think I can make a point for learning, sorry.

If no one learned before they died, we wouldn't have yahoo answers or that screem you're lkooking at. Heck, do you want to get wam? Where's the fire? right, noi one learned. Discovery is a form of learning. If we didn't learn, sure the world would be in a much better state i hope, but there would be no religion, no intellect, no structure, no anything. We learn because we hope that some day, we can help others like ourselves advance in society, or we can make some sort of a difference in the world. That and I'm sure you'd like to earn a few dollars to live a decent life

Guess what! Actors need an education too, how then will they be able to read lines from a script? Heros needed education too. They needed to know how to build the weapons such as spears and such. Look at the Jampanese people way back when. They Thought that these "ridiculous" Englishmen were silly because they wore pants which they believe would "limit the warrior's movement" or that guns were dumb weapons. What was the reult of that? European and English imperialism. TADA, with a little more knowledge, they might have been able to come up with a strategy to defeat the invaders.

What is the point of doing anything if you are going to die? Learning doesn't involve just the educational content of school, but the more basic of skills as well. You learn to walk, you learn to talk, you learn to type, you learn to communicate, and you learn to ask questions...so what is the point of asking this question if you are just going to die?

this question torments me. some things, however, must be learned just to stay living (but why live, if you're going to die?). other things make living more pleasant, when learned (ie, many girls smell good). finally, for some reason, i YEARN to learn! i can't put it strongly enough (hell, i'm on YAHOO ANSWERS, if that gives you any idea!). i BURN to know! it hurts me NOT to! perhaps i'll learn how not to die! i'm looking into it, as are others better qualified to find the answer. but, hey, that's just me and my experience. you may want to learn to count your change, unless you're going to just sit and waste away, though (i have trouble with math, myself).

If you don't have and education and don't learn anything, you will not have a good career to support yourself, or have a family. It is all about the quality and what you make of your life while you are here on earth. You don't want to be homeless or live in poverty. What kind of life would that be?

If you stop learning, what's the point of living? You have to make your life worth while when you're here. There's never any reason not to do the best you can with whatever you have to work with. You can't expect others to take care of you because you're not willing to learn anything and be able to take care of yourself as well as you can.

Why bother even living if you're going to die?

Learning will enrich your life as long as you live, that's why. And it can be a joy in and of itself. When Oliver Wendell Holmes lay dying, Franklin Rooselvelt came to visit him, and found him reading a text on Greek grammar. He was surprised, and asked why he was reading it. "To improve my mind", Holmes replied.

Learning is what we need to do to be the best we can be and do what is expected of us and fulfill gods plan for us. Don't walk through life ignorant with your eyes closed just because you know the end outcome. Live each day with good intentions.
