does anybody know why the patriots didn't apply the franchise tag to adam vinatieri?

They didn't think he was important enough, simple as that. But the Pats will wish they had him come later in the season. That guy is money in the bank!

No, but I wish I did. Do you remember the first pre season game with Indianapolis vs. St. Louis? I agree with Tom Jackson that the bizarre onside kick was a statement to New England form the Colts. They got the Pats boy.
