odd. i think not. yes she can move but she cant sing. her video was nominated for best cheargrophy or however you spell it . the only dance was just her like belly dancing and moving around as if she were having a seizure. best pop video? shes not pop shes like just pure latin music.. and hips dont lie is so not pop. ANd video of the year? please there were many videos better then hers . her video looked cheap as hell (no offense to anyone or her fans). im glad she didnt win because she didnt do that well maybe she will have more luck at the grammys :)
by the way i met her 2 times last year and when i was like 6 ( we are both from the same country ( colombia)

That's what I was saying! She had like 7 nominations and she didn't win anything. Her song stayed in the top spot for a while but I guess they liked other people over her. She is my favourite artist, but I guess she can win next year. Even though she can't sing well, she can dance way better then a lot of "dancers" in our music industry

I was shocked at Kelly Clarkson winning over Shakira,and so many other great talent.The show was a disappointment.

I heard she got one for best choreography. Which made me laugh because she didn't have any, besides when she's in the white skirt, and that wasn't dancing! Yeah she can move her hips and shake her boobs but what woman can't? Choreography should be defined MUCH better.
If she didn't get one, then that's why!!

Yes!! Pfft fellow latina here and i am upset she deffinetly deserved an award. Except i wasn't fond of her performance, her voice sounded different, she sounded like she couldn't sing, but the hips made up for half of it!

not really. think about it. she has a signature move and sound. she hasn't really evolved her work...so she already won for what she has done....if she wants to win again, she needs to change it up a bit.
