Well your generation was messed up by overly permissive parenting...for example, not enough spanking and discipline.

I am a 53 y/o male and I feel that is the smartest thing that I have ever heard come from a teenager. Please don't be in a hurry to grow up. Life is not all about sex, there are so many other ways to have fun. Use the imagination that you have and just play, keep playing until you can't play anymore. Sex will always be here, don't rush into anything. When you start messing with sex that is when the trouble starts to happen, maybe pregnancy or even catch a non curable disease like HIV. Is it really worth throwing your life away because of sex. Be wise, use your head.
Just let yourself be a kid and worry about the other things later.

Obviously, more kids, yes I said KIDS, should think like you do. Yes, the teen years should be about clean fun, not sex. There is plenty of time for that. You are only young once, as they say. I never did understand the big rush. Kids don't seem to understand that sex can mess up your life in lots of ways if done before you are ready. And no, I don't think anyone whose a teenager is ready, no matter what they say. I wish I would have waited alot longer than I did. As for the rap lyrics, I can't listen to a majority of the garbage.Call me an old fart or whatever, but oh well.

I wish and hope that my daughters feel the same way you do when they get to those ages, right now they are only 9 & 11 listen up!
You are sooooo right but, it's the times, to be honest with nothing on t.v or in the news but, sex and war and voleince that is what they are seeing and growing up with, times have changed and not for the good and I am sorry that it's that way but, as long as there are girls in this world who think like you do and have enough love for themselves as you do may be there is some hope yet for the young.......Don't let anyone make you change your mind, or stop you from they way you think okay stay strong and continue to love yourself okay..............

I'm getting a bit tired of it to. My boyfriend is 15 like me and he said hes had sex alot. I'm still a virgin by choice. People shouldn't be getting pregnant and having sex at the ages we are at if they can't handle the consequences. They think it is a game that it makes them cool. Well having a baby in your teens isn't the greatest. I saw at least 3 pregnant girls walking around my school last year. They need to take proper precautions before they have sex.

umm thats all on the parents and a lil on society....but in the end its the kids decision...sex sells...that's all there is to it. i got married when i was 18 and didnt have sex til after i was married cuz i knew he was the one and that i wanted him to be the one...lots of my friends had to worry day in and day out if there were pregnant or had an std...i didnt. and now that i am 21(had a baby at 19) i am very happy with my life and with my family. but i was talked to when i was young and told that it's a nice thing to wait til you were married...and tho there were opportunities...i just never felt it was the right thing to do. so yeah...in the end it's your decision...and you deal with the consequences of having sex.

I honestly don't think their are that many people having sex now then 20 years ago, however it is talked about it more. That is a good thing because you can't tell me you don't know what a condom is or what HIV is but years ago people wouldn't be able to talk and ask questions freely and ended up not protecting themselves.

i'm not a teen but i agree with you! my cousin who was 16 when she had her little boy she is now 17 and i think that is way too young and i don't have room to talk really i was 19 when i had my little princess :) teens should be out playing games hanging with friends and not having you know what and getting pregnant! it is really sad i think you should speak up talk to your friends! tell everyone how you feel!

It's the parents fault, well and somewhat societys fault. These days, both parents are working to keep up the household which leaves kids to entertain themselves and sometimes to be their own parents.
Then you have the parents who just show no interest in their children and leave it up to society, such as the educational systems and such to raise their children...
