First of all it is Bear Arms, but for some people taking their rights to have their flabby bare arms waving in public should be considered. Our government has had to change for our protection and unfortunately it is not free. And as far as guns if they are properly registered then they will not be taken away unless of course you have a case of Oozes laying around, then maybe. You need to relax I promise that we will not become a police state or country. We are in a time where a normal looking person could be the next one to blow the hell out of a building killing your neighbor or child and until we can find a fool proof way to detect them we all have to make some concessions.

Guns and taxes? Is that all you care about? Sheesh! What about the checks & balances that keep one branch of the government from becoming tyrannical, as the Executive is now? What about our 4th Amendment rights not to have the government spy on us law-abiding non-terrorists? What about our First Amendment rights? The government was designed to be secular, but the current Administration not only favors Fundamentalism, but they take MY tax dollars to pay for it! Over $2 billion a year!
I get the idea you'd like a Fascist dictatorship as long as it didn't cost you any taxes, and it let you keep your guns. Free speech? Due process of law? Who needs 'em!

We are allowing it because the only forces competing with apathy in this country are partisan hatred and rampant paranoia.
Most people (almost 60%) don't even vote. Of those that do vote, most are more concerned with advancing their political party than with electing candidates who will actually deal with the issues.
Anyone who speaks out, from either end of the spectrum, is attacked for their opinion, which only leads to move shouting and partisan bickering. And underlying it all, our govt is telling us to trust it, that it needs to do all these things for our own protection.
So, we're allowing it because the vast majority of people have forgotten the basic principles that this country was founded upon. And almost everyone can't agree on what those principles are.

I agree. I dont like to hear about high gas prices and record profits for oil companies in the same sentence. I dont think that companies no matter what sector should ever have to consider possibly giving thier profit back to the public. The company took the risk and they were rewarded with the price going up and profiting from it. Congress didnt say anything in the late 90s when oil was cheap and it was harder times for the oil companies.

You're completely right. Politics have stolen our rights. For example, Bush stole the presidency twice. He's a liar and a cheat. Republicans are hipocrites!

That's a crock of shiit. No one is going to take away your guns. If you have legal registered guns, no one can take them away from you.
