Interesting question. This depends on the circumstances, and most of all, what you mean by it.

If you are TRAVELLING west constantly, you will always be moving westward. This is a direction, in this case. If you're referring to the east and west as a location, as in Asia is commonly reffered to as the East, then yes...if you travelled west far enough you would get to the "East". How do you know when you've crossed this border? It's called the Prime Meridian, or 0 degrees longitude. It's currently defined at Greenwich, Germany.

North and South, however, are poles. The only reason for this is magnetism, as far as I know, and magnetism doesn't affect east and west. So, if you were travelling southwards to the South Pole, once you reached the pole, your next step would be Northwards. East and West are only the directions between North and South, and as they are directions that are parallel to the north and south poles, technically they go on forever.

West turns East based after human civilization determined how we manage our time in days, hours and minutes. If you continue to the West you will simply continue around the globe until you are tired of it. In terms of time, the West becomes East once you cross the International Date Line, an imaginary line drawn down 0 degrees longitude, starting at the North Pole, crossing the Bering Straight, continuing southward until it reaches the South Pole.

Find a ball or a globe. Mark the ball. Travel around it with your hand, finger, or toy car. See for yourself. If you start West, you stay West until you turn to another direction. The poles are different. At the North pole, the only direction is South having no East or West.

no as long as you are going west you are still going west, it does not become east. It is not the same for North and South -- once you go north to the North Pole, then once you go away from the north pole you are going south and will continue going south until you get to the South Pole. Once at the south pole you will be going north again until you reach the north pole.

The East is East, and the West is West, the twin shall never meet!

You may land up in a place marked as East on a map, but as long you are travelling along a direction, it is the direction that dictates.

If you press on, you will realize that your own home is west of your home, or it is East of itself, if you travel accurately around the globe!

The other thing is if you go East, you will land u on the West side of your house!

I think it is yes. There is really no east and west on a globe as far as I visulalise. But this may not hold for north and south as they have other distinguishable properties.

Go east and you can keep going east forever. Like in the movie the sandlot when the kid says "FOR-EV-ER!"

Same thing with west.

North and south don't fit that description though.

That's why in the bible is says "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12.

I like to try to apply the bible to everyday questions.

LA is west of New York, Honolulu is west of LA, Tokyo is west of Honolulu, Moscow is west Tokyo, London is west of Moscow, and New York is west of London, so you could go west indefinitely. North and South are different; if you go to the north pole, you're always facing south.

Yes, if you live in the Western Hemisphere and go west, eventually you will be in the Eastern Hemisphere. Same thing goes for N/S. If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, and go s. after you cross the equator you will be in the Southern Hemisphere. Good QUESTion.
