Two words: Good Luck.

I own online poker rooms at worldpokersite.com. It's for fun and free. Even that, there are still laws I have to follow.

For you to open your own poker room and make it legal, here are some tricks:

1) You can not serve alcohol. The players can bring their own alcohol, but the house can not.

2) The house must have some type of membership and way to ensure all players are above an age limit.

3) The house can not make a profit. Every bet must be fair.

4) The location of poker room must not be near church or school.

Those are the basic rules.

Let's say you break any of the above rule. Then you will get a ticket or warning on first offense. It is a misdemeanor, just like a traffic ticket. You can pay the ticket. With several offenses, then they may raid you, take all of your tables, chips, money, etc.

Laws are tougher by the day. Illegal hosting of poker is not tolerated in most states.

You are better off having an online poker room where the servers are offshore if you want. Ask me how to do that and I can help. I own worldpokersite.com, and it's just for fun, but laws are still unclear for online poker if you want to make profit. I can help.

Cheers,

Don't allow gambling for money.
I heard that if you replace "prizes" for money it's legal.

Sorry, I don't have anything more concrete.
