I really want to start a new hobby. Something I can do at home, that will keep me off of the computer. I am on the computer all the time. Some kind of craft. Not sure what, just wondering if anyone can give me some suggestions? All are appreciated!

And please dont say painting or something because I find it too messy and while I love to, I don't feel like doing it. Nothing like 'sketching' or 'pastels' either. Something else other than drawing, please.

I agree with knitting. You could make yourself a hat like you have on your avator.
Good luck. =)

In my opinion I think you should take up writing as a hobby.
Writing can be fun, it can make you more creative, or even a deeper thinker.
If you start writing at a young age you may be able to write something interesting one day.
In the process of writing your imagination will grow to unattainable proportions.
Your imagination could get so big, that any one of your dreams would seem simple enough to conquer.
Think of writing as inspirational to the mind's creativity and benifiacary to your education.
The best thing is you don't have to write anything worth reading.
You can write whatever you want.
Writing anything is a great way to pass time.
You could write anything, from a journal to just folly and imagination.
Write what ever you want to write think of it as a way to better yourself.
One day you could wright so well that you could change the way people look at life.
Instead of knitting something for a loved one think bigger, think about your future, and think about the people you could inpact with a simple hobby.
Knitting is giving, but writing is sharing for more then a lifetime.
What ever hobby you choose, know that you can drop it any time when it gets boring or when you just can't stand it any more.
Pick a something your interested in doing, pick something fun, most importently pick something that suits your personalty.

Choosing a hobby isn't quite as easy as asking strangers. I'd want to know who you are, what you like to do, do you like music, do you like art...etc., Don't dismiss using a computer as a hobby, you can incorporate your computer use into being a hobby if you build something with it. Build a small business, build art, etc.
What is it about the computer that draws you? What compels you to click and read, etc.
Learn about website design, learn about doing presentations, just because it's learning doesn't mean it's not a hobby.
We're stuck in the thinking that a hobby is something like knitting or woodwork and it doesn't have to be like that.

So many options!
Take up singing, or learn an instrument.
Join a book club.
Rug-hooking.
Cooking.
Design something.
Gardening - tend a Bonsai tree.
Volunteer at the SPCA as a dog walker.
Stained glass.
Astonomy or astrology.
It should be something that really grabs you and that you find satisfying soon after you try it. Otherwise you'll end up back in front of the screen... And hey, at least it's not tv!

Knitting, sewing, cross-stitch, gardening and curtain making. Darling there are lots only if you are interested with that. That was my hobby before I got hooked on my computer. But at least I finished several masterpieces.

I would suggest scrapbooking. I LOVE scrapbooking. There are many positives such as it preserves your photos and memories longer. Also, groups of people will often get together for scrapbooking sessions so it's a great way to make new friends. :o)

Make stained glass. You can get started for under $200 and the results look great and can be very useful.
