I have studied the bible for 20 plus years. Yes, I have read both, and I tend to believe the DeVinci Code over the bible. The reason? Because I feel man wrote the bible to control people by fear. Also there are so many contradictions in the bible. And it is all relative anyways, because it is all a matter of interpretation to each person. We can go back to the question: "Is the glass half full or half empty?" A matter of interpretation...

No, I have not read the Bible but I don't need to do so. Has it has already been said The DaVinci Code is fiction, and no person with a thorough knowledge of history can believe the facts in that book or take for granted the proofs that the author gives. There has been a documentary on discovery some time ago about this book, and it has been proved that the facts in The DaVinci Code have no solid base.

yes actually, and also the book of Mormon, some of but not all of the dead sea scrolls, part of the Koran, and a variety of other books The Da Vinci code is actually fiction, it just touches on things that are very close to reality.
Now, if you really want all sides, have you read the original Hebrew or Greek scriptures? Have you read Ching Tao?
There are many many paths. Why limit yourself to the bible and a work of fiction? How do you know the bible is not fiction? (Actually it is mostly metaphors)
Might I suggest you follow your bliss? This is your true path and you need not drag others kicking and screaming down your path... you can meet them at the other end of things.

Have read the entire bible-several times and what is there to even consider. What side is there to listen to. The DeVinci Code is not a true account of Jesus'life but a what if fiction. If you read the bible or just know about Christianity or just the purpose of Jesus being born then the DeVinci Code makes no sense and were it true(Not) then there would be no afterlife for us.Adam and Eve were driven out of the Garden of Eden and angels were placed at the entrance to bar them from it forever.Their punishment for disobeying God was also placed on their offspring-us. So how was God going to make it possible for us to be immortal with Him-His original purpose for us. He paid the sacrifice, the blood sacrifice,by being born and Dying on the cross(the sacrifice and atonement of sin of Adam and Eve).for when Jesus died He was gone from the world for 3days preaching the gospel to All those who had died-Heaven was closed until He died.Had He not died and married instead and then died a natural death what would be the goal, hope of Christianity? The goal ,hope of Christianity is to die but not end but begin. Think!

Well, I don't know if you've heard that the DaVinci Code is fiction, but I think all the other people who've read it know that so they know that they don't need to read the Bible or anything else to hear the other side because they understand that fiction is not the truth. By the way, the Bible isn't exactly accurate either.

Not in one sitting, mind you, but I've read it. Along with compilations on the Gnostic Gospels, Biblical archaeology, and some of the source material that Brown used to come up with the story for DiVinci Code.
The counter-question: How many people who complain about the DiVinci Code have read that as well?

I've read both and found the Da Vinci Code more entertaining. The Bible gets pretty slow with all of the "begats" and rules for temple and stuff.

Ummm....WHICH Bible? There are entire books that the Vatican has locked away (like the Revelation of Saint Peter) that were accepted by earliest of Christians so there are very few people who have read ALL the Bible.

Yes, I have read the Bible - several times over and from cover to cover. It's not the Bible references that went over my head. It's the history I stumbled over. Now I'm reading Christian History at www.christianitytoday.com and reading world history anywhere I can find it condensed. I need a good overview. Any suggestions? If not, I can post a question.
