People like three things in a thermometer: fast, easy and accurate
That's why those ear thermometers are so popular, but I've found them not to be very accurate. the most accurate ones in fact are the non-digital ones, I only use those now. but they take a long time to get a temp. So a good name would try to reflect those characteristics. the word "digi" seems to popular. How about Ultratemp.. Digitemp... Accuscan?

I use the Braun Thermoscan. Whenever I use it, I scan the ear three times and average out the temp. it reads because it doesn't always give you a consistant result. IT's good to use for young kids because it's quick. In terms of accuracy - well, you either have a fever or you don't, so I am fine with it.

There may be other brand names that are not well known that make these types of thermometers, but they won't work without filters. Once you run out of filters, you have to go out and keep buying them. At least with Braun Thermoscan, I know that I can go out and find the disposable filters in the store -they always have them.
