As a person who believes in liberalism and power to the people. He is one of Mexico's best politician. I think he would make a great president since he like Hugo Chavez cares deeply about the middle and working class people. He has made great social welfare advances, improved healthcare and better education, in Mexico city and has stood up to the rich of Mexico. This being his downfall. His relations with the US are pretty poor since he believes in social democracy, and not exploiting the poor.
Hope that answers your questions.

I would have been inclined to agree with the previous answer until the Mexican presidential election. The guy has done just about everything except hold his breath until he gets declared the winner of the election. The only problem is he doesn't seem to have enough votes, and his claims of fraud cannot be substantiated by anyone, including the Mexican supreme court. He is still threatening massive protests because he didn't win, and as a result, he has gone from respected to just plain ridiculous. I know I have lost all respect for him.
