brewer's yeast is a very rich source of nutrients-- it's an excellent source of all the major B vitamins (except B12). It also contains other vitamins, sixteen amino acids and fourteen or more minerals.

however by itself it tastes pretty nasty and bitter, and it's got to be mixed in with other stuff. a tablespoon in orange juice or a smoothie tastes pretty good though, like in a smoothie with bananas, strawberries and yogurt, yum... you can also add some in if you make granola bars, also in breakfast cereal, like oatmeal.

good luck, you sound like you are on the road to healthiness!!
