Don't worry, it's only a gift from the oil companies to the Republican party and they will get it all back the day after the election.

The President cannot be re-elected so I seriously doubt that he can do anything about the gas prices or that he is behind any conspiracy to control the price. Gas prices are based on supply and demand, the people of this country are not traveling as much due to the fact that school has started for many families and summer is all but over. It is plain and simple we are using less gas so there is more supply and the price drops. I am not saying that the corporations that own the gas companies are not charging too much because I do feel that they are given the amount of profit that has risen for consecutive quarters, but that is another issue.

You people need to learn how the commodity market works. There isn't a person in the world that can control gas prices. The same goes for gold, corn, copper, soybeans, porkbellies {which is where we get our bacon},platinum, palladium, etc. etc. It's about supply and demand. The prices drop at this time of the year every year at the end of summer. That's why when the liberal media said gas would go to 4$ a gallon, they were wrong again. Educate yourself and quit being a byproduct of the media. The price of aluminum has gone up and when your cashing in your cans I'll bet you're not blaming Bush. Pure ignorance and hatred is ruining your party. Educate yourself with something of substance and rise above the ignorance.

Isn't it though!

!2 days before our primary gas has dropped over 30 cents a gallon!

I just wonder why that is! Dirty tricks by the Repubs! Soak em and right before election time lets let up so we can appear as the good guys!!

This is how they play!

Scarlet, last year this time gas was under $2.00 a gallon! You trying to tell us that they raised the prices by more than double just because of the summer! Can't wait for Winter!!

Do you have any idea the damage oil prices have caused? They were havoc to our state who's main industry is tourism!

Plastic is going to go up, as will rubber, and anything else petroleum based like 1/2 your car! It's effect is going to be felt a lot farther than the pumps! The surcharge on my electricity bill, because of oil prices, is more than my actual bill!!!

Gas price is usually high in Summer due to high vacation travel. It usually drops in the fall. It dropped in October last year. It took a little longer than usual to drop in 2005 because of Katrina.

The oil companies have decided that the Hurrican season will not be as severe this year. They are not expecting oil rigs in the Gulf to sustain the expected damages. They are releasing more reserves.
The Gulf is producing more oli.

Especially in light of the Alaskan Pipeline "crisis" that was reported a few weeks ago. I expected to see a rise from the $2.94 that I was paying...it's not at $2.71 and dropping. Thanks election year!
