Because it's just as easy to type a word that's spelled correctly as incorrectly. Plus it leads me to feel helpless and hopeless about the education of this generation. How could so many people graduate from high school and college without having a clue about basic spelling and grammar?
Who told you that nobody will notice misspellings if the first and last letter is correct? This is absolutely not true! It jars the sensibilities of the reader to be presented with questions that are so misspelled and garbled that they are unreadable and indecipherable.
Also, it points to a stunning lack of self respect and pride in accomplishment to be so lacking in concern about how you present yourself to the public. This is the only contact that we have with you and, as far as I can tell, you are a poorly educated ignoramus with no regard for anyone but yourself.
That's why good spelling and grammar matters.

Well, if you're posting a question here, then there is no reason not to have correct spelling. Y!Answers gives you a spell checker. Incorrect spelling just shows the reader how lazy the ask-er is.

Because if you asks a question, it makes it alot easier if the typing is correct so people can answer the question. It is hard to try to figure out what someone is trying to say if the spelling is off...

Not really fussing at the person asking the question. Just in awe of the inadequacy of public education

i don't complain about spelling Darkness and you are right. in fact, Mark Twain wrote about your exact point about how the brain will read words as if they are spelled correctly.

Jenerally, then, the improvement would kontinue iear bai iear with Iear 5 doing awai with useless double konsonants, and Iears 6-12 or so modifaiing vowlz and the rimeining voist and unvoist konsonants. Bai Iear 15 or sou, it wud fainali bi posibl tu meik ius ov thi ridandant letez "c", "y" and "x" -- bai now jast a memori in the maindz ov ould doderez -- tu riplais "ch", "sh", and "th" rispektivli.

It's hard to formulate an intelligent answer when the "asker" is either too stupid to use correct spelling or too lazy to click on "check spelling" or both.

When a person spells a number of words incorrectly in their question, they come off as uneducated. It's irritating for some of us.
