Because designers make their clothes to look best on size 0 women...so the models are forces to slim down so that they can fit into the outfits.

The "houses" (top fashion designer companies) are the ones that dictate the shape of a model. They don't want anything to detract from their designs, ergo skinny is the shape that will be demanded.
In other words they don't want big boobs and bubble butts messin' up the lines of of what they designed.
You know how much of a pratt designers can be.

They're walking hangers....Oh, and so we feel bad that about ourselves.
Honestly, designers should use realistic models, because it seems that their patterns and designs don't translate over our lumps and curves...
