Not nearly enough. Heck, most Americans don't even know that much about their own country, let alone other countries. I know you guys have a fabulous wine country region that could rival Napa Valley (ok, better than Napa Valley) and you have one of the best botanical gardens I've ever seen (Butchart Gardens).

Sad, sad, sad that Americans can be so ignorant about their greatest neighbor, eh?

Well we know you like hockey. We know you have an allegiance to the Queen. We know you pay more taxes than we do. We know that there are some pretty damn cold places in Canada. We know that there is a region that wants to be by itself and speak French. We know that the hookers in Toronto are great. We know that Wayne Gretzky and Pam Anderson both came from Canada, as did Michael J. Fox. Oh and we love the Canadian Mounties.

Well, a lot do just because of the length of the border that separates our countries.

I live in Buffalo and can be in Canada in less than 20 minutes--so I go all the time. Plus as a raging hockey fan I love Canada. Spend almost every vacation there and my husband works in Toronto.

I find your government a bit confusing but interesting, love your health care ideals and find the people smarter and friendlier by and large.

Oh, Canada.....we stand on guard for thee! Oh and love Rick Mercer! :-)

what do you want to know?
names of your territories and provinces?
names of their capitals?
government? famous people? topography? what?

British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, NewFoundland, Prince Edward Island, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territory.
Didn't look it up so some might be spelled wrong.
Capitals that I know of: Victoria, Edmonton, Regina, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, not sure about the last three listed and don't know the rest.
Capital of Canada is Ottowa.
Have a high percentage on welfare but the people get good welfare benefits. Socialized medicine.
Etc, Etc.

Oh, and it's where Rocky and Bullwinkle are from, right?

I love the eh? Not very much. Sorry. I can't think of any stereotypes. I'm in Minnesota, so we're always happy to have a Canadian cool front come down in the summer. You can send me a note and explain some things if you'd like. I'd love to learn some stuff.

A little, my sister in law is a Canadian, we love to visit in the Toronto area. People from all over the world in the city. The first thing you notice about Toronto is how clean it is and that public transportation is great. CNN tower, fantastic and the Stadium is world class!
They are really into recycling . Every one who has a baby gets diaper service. They supply the cloth diapers and really nice terry water proof-covers right off, with the name code on them. You have a container for soiled ones, and there is pickup and delivery every 5 days.

Less than $20 for Baby's delivery. Baby in distress, one week in ICU. no charge. Same for all surgery and hospitalizations.

We visited the countryside and small towns, every thing neat and so green. We met wonderful people. Would go back any time.

Very little. The first time my great aunt met my husband (who's Canadian) she asked him if they had indoor plumbing up there yet....this was in...1998...hehe. I live in Kitchener which is just an hour and a bit from the New York line and when some of my family came up in September (shortly after my husband and I started living together), were amazed that we weren't 10 feet under snow and surrounded by igloo's and polar bears. ;)

Canadians are great with the possible exception of those in Montreal! They have an idea of rude and crude that would rival New Yorkers or the people of France!
