shiara blade is absolutely WRONG. Metal is agood conductor of heat, meaning heat will transfer through the material faster. Plastic is an insulator, as is glass as well. Water in a plastic bottle will not become warmer faster than water in a metal can, because the can transfers heat more quickly.
Try an easy experiment for yourself:
Place a frozen popsicle or any frozen food on a metal cookie sheet (non - coated) and place an identical frozen piece of food on an inverted glass baking pan or casserole. The Frozen piece of food on the metal pan will that much faster than the food on the glass casserole.
This has a practical application of thawing food quicker by simply placing it on something metal ( inside a metal sink, on top of an inverted cooking pan, or a metal baking sheet)

Metal is a better conductor of heat than glass or plastic, so a can should heat or cool faster than a bottle if the containers have the same size and shape. The difference could be marginal because conduction in the water rather than the surface could be the rate limiting step.

that would depend on the thickness of the plastic but assuming the plastic and aluminum have the same thickness, aluminum is colder.
canned water though.... that sounds gross.
