usually 8-10 months. sometimes as early as 6 months, or late as 12 months. Some skip crawling altogether and go straight to walking.

My baby is 6 1/2 months old and is not crawling yet. My older two were crawling at 4 months but they slept on their bellies (they are 9 and 6). My son is trying to crawl now and every day we work with him he gets better. The key is to make him/her try a little harder each day and they will crawl before you know it. I hope this helps. But each baby is different!

All babies progress at differnt speeds. . Some babies never crawl and just go straight to walking. It is different with every baby. My daugher is 3 months and is starting to scoot and should be crawling in a few weeks but my nephew didnt crawl till he was 13 months!

It really depends on the baby. Normally babies start crawling at 9-12 months.

When babies start crawling is individual, and the norms change between cultures (for instance in Indonesian culture the milestone is a lot later than for white Australian babies as there is different empahisis on the importance of "tummy time" (high importance in Australia, low in Indonesia) and different cultures carry their children more (more prams in Australia)

We were told, however, that it is important for babies to crawl at some stage as research shows that it is important for coordination and learning. Our local Child and Youth Health told us that it doesn't matter WHEN our children start crawling, as long as they do. They even have a physio they refer babies to if they walk before they crawl to teach the baby how to crawl.

Every baby is different... My eldest crawled at six months old and my youngest crawled at four months old... Some babies don't even crawl they do a bum shuffle sort of thing and some just skip crawling and go straight to walking... I wouldn't worry too much about it...

Everyone is different.

My second son didn't crawl and began walking at 8 months. The rest of my children (a total of 7) began walking around 6-9 months.

they usually begin to crawl a couple of weeks after they start sitting up on their own....but oldlady is right.....there is no standard for crawling like there is for rolling over, sitting, babbling,etc....my son is 7mos now and he will get on his hand and knees and kind of rock back and forth but he can't go from his belly to his butt yet....and some don't crawl at all.....there's a whole section on this in "What to Expect the First Year" I think it's in either the 7th or 8th month section.

every baby is different but most start from as early as 4 months..but most not til about 6 months and up. give them tummy time and it will help bulid there upper body strength...you could put a toy out of reach and see if they scoot towards and stuff like that. my daughter started to crawl at 5 months, stood with help(from table or wall) at 6 months, and walked at 10 months....but we worked with her on it after she made the first initial interest in what she wanted to do....if you think it is a major concern talk to your dr about it...they will be able to help!!
