Good question,
The answer unfortunately is no, definetly no. Because Microsoft's share value is high it's operating systems have a potential threat of viruses-even Windows Vista. As for errors, there will likely be some, but hopefully less. Microsoft claims that the security is much better in Windows Vista so all we can do is hope. Keep in mind that Microsoft said the same thing before Windows XP was released.
Hope this helps,
Hafiz

Well, that someone is either an idiot or a moronic marketing guy for Microsoft. With windows being popular, there will always be virus writer for it. There has been no-hacked proof operation system in human history. Microsoft is not the likely to get it done since Microsoft is never known to be innovative. As for error free, don't count on it. Especially you are one of the morons that have to be the first to try out the new windows.
Sorry to tell you this: as long as Microsoft remains dominant in PC world, there will always be viruses and bugs to fight.

I doubt it will be virus free. The only way to do that is to not allow any changes to the registry unless you enter some mashed up text, like the ones when you register for something online. Same thing for installing software. Error free, the only way you can do that is to not install anything at all. My old computer is error free because I have no 3rd party software.

Probably not but viruses and malware will be harder to execute on Vista because... well... most people will not be running under Admin accounts, I however, will be.
As far as being error free, more error free than XP which for me has been perfect so my guess is Vista will be perfect (for me) as well. I can only speak for myself but I think Vista is going to be THE BEST OS on the market, next to OSX. I hate Linux... I have many many issues from driver install problems to tweaking problems to display resolution issues (even Ubuntu). So don't anyone say to use Linux, I never will.

hi, that maybe a virus, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.
i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:

I won't have a job if that happens. And Microsoft has never let me down on that front.
