Possible spoilers for Cartoon Network only viewers....
Seeing a lot of Naruto questions here, and the abundance of Sasuke fans I have to wonder what the love affair with him is. Is it because the majority of fans have only seen the American version and are unaware of what Sasuke becomes? Are there Japanese version viewers who know what a tool he is and who still really like him? Am I crazy and he's still really a good character who makes a bad choice to find his revenge? Am I stupid for even caring? Let me know what your opinion is.

No he purely cares approximately Sasuke using fact he's Naruto's first pal and that they the two have suffered interior the previous so Naruto would not desire to offer up on him plus Naruto remembers the promise made to Sakura

Well it's sort of the same way with Gaara, how he is "evil" but still an awesome character. The sand wall deflecting every move in the tournament while he just stands there with his arms crossed, that's probably one of the coolest moves in the series. I guess it's just a matter of opinion on like and dislike for characters. I tried watching the American version, I hated Naruto just cause the voice over they used.

I think the reason Sasuke is one of the popular characters is that he is one of the characters with more depth than anyone else in the series who is a dark contrast of the light hearted Naruto.
Unlike Naruto Sasuke'a life started out being around people who loved him, but ended up being isolated like Naruto after his brother killed his clan. While Naruto hated his forced isolation and sought out acceptance from others Sasuke embraced his self imposed isolation and kept pushing others away from him. Naruto is born with a great power and is encouraged to use it Sasuke has power thrust upon him and is told not to use it. In a sense the only thing that separates Saskuke and Naruto is a few bad twists in life. It makes sense that while Naruto wants to be Hokage, Sasuke would end up allying himself with someone who wants to destroy Konoha. It’s also interesting to note that Sasuke’s defection also helps to reflect his group with the three Sannin

Well Naruto is the main character in all, but Sasuke is the only one that has the skills to kill his own brother Itachi Uchiha he is known as a avenger, all the female girls like him in Naruto series

i think a lot of people like the aloof, cool, and silent type, who have very strong inner abilities. Like Sasuke, he's soo good at being a ninja, and he's at the top of his bunch. i never watch naruto, i only read the manga, but that's enough for anyone to find what an awesome character he is. even if he becomes evil, i'll still love him!

No offense to any fans out there, but Sasuke, in my opinion is very arrogant. Many people like him because he is always taking the credit, looks like the hero in many cases, and, like someone else said, has the ''bad boy'' image. Personally, Kakashi is so much hotter. He's fly, smooth, and in control. That's what I like. Sasuke just takes things so seriously, but Kakashi does too, but at least he has style.

i think people like him because of his character design. Cool hairdo, cool clothes, cool justu (sharingan). Compared to Naruto in that sense Sasuke is the better preference... heck I would do the same......however i hate him because of his lust for power in order to kill his brother, if hes willing to give up his own body to Orochimaru then how will he gain the satifaction of killing him, how can he be sure that being Oro's vessel is enough for his revenge? Even if he had seeked another way apart from Oro and had succeded whats of him afterwards? Nuthin but a sad looser who gave up a life of love, frienship, and good times just for the death of one person.......a very unhappy ending compared to what Naruto will get.

i don't love sasuke but i like him. I don't really know why people love him but I think its an anime thing thats why they love sasuke i guess.

it has to be his bad boy image.. because hes not very nice.. well in the beginning, but as time goes on he gets more caring.. sorta..

Because he sucks.
The reason he is so popular? Well, part of the reason is because alot of the Fangirls out there, dont have much taste in who to like. Which leads to them like Sasuke over Kakashi and thats like...how in the world?
He is the...(sasuke) the whole...dark and mysterious character with bloody past. He is very...blind to anything but what he wants...until he meets someone...then he changes...then he gets back on track.
He is a tragady ready to happen, and thats what we want. Drama Drama. Sasuke is drama. He is silent. He is dark.
