So at the beginning of the summer I met a new female friend(who has been in an on & off relationship for the past 2 years) through some friends. We started hanging out a lot and getting to know each other. She had a long distant relationship which she hasn't been happy about for the last couple of years, this was obvious to all. My question is this. On one phone conversation with her, out of the blue, she told me that "you're the enlightened one reincarnated into your body". Her family is Buddhist and if you aren't familiar with Buddhist, here's the 101 on it. The enlightened one is basically the 'god' in short who comes back into life every life cycle. Why she told me that I don't know. Is it that she wants some guy to get her out of her crappy relationship and doesn't know how? coz that's the only thing I can think of. We're both in our 30's.

yeah, sorry for the vagueness, i'm not sure what i'm asking either. when she told me that i just blew it off and made a joke out of it, like he reincarnated into the wrong body coz i'm definitely not the enlightened one. i feel as if her current situation with the on and off again relationship is what prompted the statement, like it's a bad relationship, i mean everyone know it's a bad relationship. i probably know the answer inside already, but i just need to hear it out for myself, so that's why i'm here.

Being enlightened is obtaining wisdom. I sure she meant it as a compliment. I have had similar conversations, but it meant I was a good friend and listener, not that romance was in the air. My experience also has been that they value the friendship so much they would not want to ruin it by taking it to the next level.
If you want to know where you stand, then ask her.

Bonobo.......they seem to be a sort of chimp yet in assessment to annoy-loose chimps they're governed via the ladies human beings and consequently are non violent. they'll settle a dispute via kissing and making love (between all genders).

You've sort of made it vague, and I daresay you understand her much better than I do, but it seems she respects you and your opinon. She considers your advice to be wisdom and she looks up to you.
