When I was a smoker, I whined about individual rights. Then I realized that when one person's actions badly affect others, it is not a breach of individual human rights.

I don't know. Is smoking illegal in New Zealand? If it is, it is certainly a breach of human rights. People should have the right to use any stimulant they wish, including and not limited to, marijuana, heroin cocain, meth and I don't know what else. I'm kind of kidding, because I don't think the use, only the sale of those substances should be illegal.

I'm not a smoker. Never have been, never will be. If someone else decides to smoke that is their choice
HOWEVER, let them think about this. When they smoke in public, and blow the smoke directly into the faces of passerbys, who's individual right is being violated? When they do this to a pregnant woman, that would be 2 persons individual rights being violated.
If you choose to smoke that is your choice but don't inflict it on others, the majority, who choose not too. And please think about all those woman who are pregnant and would prefer to not harm their unborn children with cigarette smoke!
