The Moon's nodes are two points on the Ecliptic (path of the Sun) where the Moon's path intercepts it. In the Northern Hemisphere it's called the North Node and in the Southern Hemisphere it's called the South Node.
The Lunar Nodes are always opposite to one another by house, sign and degree. They move in a retrograde fashion around the zodiac. Every 18 1/2 years they return to their birth positions, so at approximately 37 years of age there is a second Nodal Return. These are times of beginnings and endings.
As the Nodes orbit they frequently turn, station, travel direct, station and return to a retrograde motion. An ephemeris takes these frequent direct and retrograde motions into consideration and calls the North Node the True Node. When the motions are averaged out, it's then called the Mean Node.
The Nodes are significant in Natal charting as well as Synastry interpretations. The North Node represents future goals for spiritual fulfilment, and where we can experience growth. The South Node represents past lives, and where we need to release from even though we are drawn to this area.
Jan Spiller has an excellent book on the Moon's Nodes entitled Astrology for the Soul. Martin Schulman has a good one as well called The Moon's Nodes and Reincarnation.

True Node, Mean Node, North Node
What’s the difference between the terms True Node, Mean Node, and North Node?
The terms True Node and Mean Node both refer to the same thing.
True and Mean are two different ways of calculating the Moon’s North Node.
The Moon’s Nodes move backwards through the Zodiac at a rate of one revolution every 18.5 years. When astronomers calculate the Mean Node, they take that yearly motion and average it out. The resulting position is the Mean Node.
In reality, the Nodes “wobble” a bit. Once astronomers obtained instruments sensitive enough to measure this wobble, they began to plot its course and call this position the True Node. Although the Nodes move around the Zodiac in a retrograde direction, the True Node is sometimes direct. The Mean Node is always retrograde.
There are plenty of ideas about the meanings of retrograde planets, but I have not heard anything about the meaning of a direct True Node. I suspect it is not of great importance.
Which is better, Mean or True?
There is no agreement among astrologers as to which is better to use in chart analysis. There are valid arguments supporting the choice to use either one. They are never more than a few degrees away from each other, so it probably doesn’t matter much.

True or Mean Node is only a relevant subject when this position is conjunct with a planet or housecusp. F.i. my North True Node is exact at Uranus and MC (5.July 1946, Utrecht-Holland, 11.02 a.m.). Do we explain the Node as in 9. or 10th House?

Conjunct the MC gives it a very strong 10th house flavor, regardless of whether it is in the 9th or 10th house. (It's the same with any planet or point. If it's near a house cusp, it often expresses quite strongly as being in the following house. This is strongest for the angular houses but still relevant for other houses.)

I dunno. i'm finding at it in 2 diverse strategies. component to me says, "nicely, if their solar sign is Taurus, then the solar will help shine mild and boost the characteristics of the North Node, although, through fact the south node could be Scorpio, the solar could have a extensive potential play with it. through fact Scorpio interior the south node represents previous lifetimes wherein the dark, chaotic forces worked nicely, and with the aid of this lifetime, they might desire to go away those dispositions at the back of. Being overly judgemental and serious, destroying issues thoroughly as a fashion to bypass on, having an particularly extreme concentration on issues.... those might desire to be left at the back of as a fashion to incorporate the Taurean north node: retaining onto issues which you value extremely than destroying it, being brazenly loving rather of judgemental, being extra "harmonious" in a fashion. If the solar sign became the comparable through fact the North Node, i will see that the solar sign could supply them the concentration to handle their previous existence dispositions, although, the south node is being just about "forgotten", and the guy can come to resent themselves for ignoring their desires and desires for thus long. i could think of which you may look to the organic ruler of the sign for help in a definite north node placement. needless to say, a solar sign Leo and North Node Leo could make a stable journey. A Venus Taurus and North Node Taurus, i might desire to be certain working nicely. additionally, through fact the North Node isn't a real "placement", in simple terms an axal element between the moon and solar, i could think of that if the Moon sign interior the comparable factor through fact the north node placement could help too. case in point, if their Moon became Capricorn, Virgo, or Taurus with North Node in Taurus, it could supply them that inner force to boost and nurture themselves that way. a minimum of it rather is how i'm finding at it. You in no way understand.
