I think they should build 5 buildings, in the shape of a hand giving the finger.
Barring that - rebuild them, make them bigger, stronger. Make em bionic! Those weazelly frufru designs do not properly represent what happened and do not give the dead enough reverence.
We should have a giant screw you right there in NY! Not some half baked commercial piece of arty garbage.
The bottom floor of the new buildings sbould be the memorial - a museum. It sould send a signal that Yes you hurt us, but we stand taller, stronger and dammit - We remember and you will pay.

The Donald Trump proposal is 1 story taller with the same design. Too many issues exist within NYC politics that are making this a problem. There are 2 state senators in New York that have been gumming up the proposals or this thing would have been underway 3 years ago. As time goes on the city is changing and now the need may not exist for such a building, but something needs to go there.

The plans are underway. there's a memorial being equipped, it rather is going to be magnificent. the twin towers would be one, however the memory would be there. it is going to tutor the worldwide we are able to in no way lose our spirit. the reality they are debating the call shows we've the main appropriate to voice differing critiques and nonetheless artwork as a collection in the direction of a common objective. u . s . a . of america might have the two a Freedom Tower or One worldwide commerce middle, a recognition is largely a recognition, the construction would be there!

Absolutely! I think they should rebuild the towers and build 'em higher than before...with pride, honor, and resolve. Show the terrorists we're not scared of their garbage and will go about business as usual! Doing anything less, I think, sends a message to the terrorists that they CAN make a difference in our lives and that we're scared. I think, too, that to do anything less would not properly honor those who lost their lives on 9/11.
Of course, there most certainly should be a floor of each devoted as a memorial for those who lost their lives in the original towers.

As someone directly affected by the World Trade Center attack, I have always thought that this is what should be done. However, living in Manhattan, I certainly understand the (strongly held) differing of opinions out there. The site means so much to so many that experienced so much loss!

NA,
The only thing they should build there is a Target store bulls eye and all.
Letting pride get mixed up in an obvious terror target is not only stupid but its also a blatant risk to the tax payers lives they expect to inhabit the space.
As radical as it seems I believe we leave it a gaping hole in the ground. Its humbling, shocking, terrifying and a landmark to a change in our illusion of safety.
I have visited the site and found it extremely difficult to "keep it together". That feeling has power. Putting shiny marble and flashy light is going to dull the brutal reality of what happened. While that hole sits I will and can never forget.
The Baron hole fuels me to appreciate the Presidents efforts to eradicate the animals that did it.
Whatever we put there is going to get targeted.

No, I don't believe the twin towers should be rebuilt. There is too much surrounding that whole issue that would constantly be a source of contention.

The owners of the land should be able to do whatever they want with it along as they meet the zoning and code requirements.
Why does the public get to discuss this at all.?

I personally do not think that it's a good idea because if they do the terrorists might just knock it down again. I think it should be a regular size building that is not so obvious...
