My mother told me this story a few years ago, but I have no recolection of it at all.

When I was like 4 or 5 years old, my mom took me to the grocery store. As usual, they had impulse items by the counter for people to see while they were waiting. Some of the items were toys and I supposedly picked up one, started playing with it and after mom had payed for everything, walked out the door with it. It wasnt until we were half way home she realized that I was playing with a toy that wasn't mine. She then turned around and returned the toy that I unknowingly took.

I was five and stole a coloring book, I didn't not know what stealing was, I was trying to get my parents attention and just walked out of the store with it. My mom made me take it back, and it did it really quickly. The cashier just laughed when she saw sneaking back in and putting the book up.

When I was in 7th grade (back in the 80's) I stole a Rubik's Cube key chain. Don't ask me why, guess I just thought it was neat and I knew my mom wouldn't buy it for me. I was so scared walking out of the store with that thing! And, no, I did not solve it, lol!

I stole a brach's carmel from the grocery store when I was five. My punishment was that my mom wouldn't get me anything to drink. I was really thirsty from drinking that carmel.
