Well, I'm no genius but here are my views:
1) You could burn it onto a DVD or a CD but this would take a lot of time and money(considering the fact that you have to buy multiple CDs)
2) You could just store it in your second hard disk if you have one. Even if your comp crashes data on drives other than the drive where the Operating System is installed is safe. Or if you want it to be portable get an external hard disk.
3) If you have money, then just buy an Ipod Video which comes in 30 or 60GB. Not only can you store your songs, you can listen to them now!

Don't try copying to CD or DVD as this will take hours and hours, is unreliable, prone to loss or damage and a real pain trying to keep an up to date backup.
Far better is to buy a second hard drive (either an internal one or an external). I'd recommend going for an external hard drive as you simply plug it into the back of your computer and away you go. They're about the size of a large softback book which means you can easily carry it around with you and connect to another computer - excellent if you want to take your files with you on the move.
Get a program such as Norton Ghost which automatically backs up EVERYTHING including all your system files and keeps the back-up up to date. As soon as you create or modify a file Ghost automatically copies it or updates the copy so you don't need to worry about backing up as it's done automatically and instantly.

Normally, i would recommend burning them on to CD disks. But, 30 GB on CD's which can only store 700MB per disk?!? If you have a broadband connection (i.e. a fast DSL or Cable) then you can upload your music files to an online storage website. I recommend StreamLoad MediaMax, a free account gets you 25 GB of storage. You can find StreamLoad at:
http://www.mediamax.com/
There are not strings attached. No adware or spyware. You can read PC World's review at:
"GeekTech: Back Up Online and Share the Wealth: Streamload makes it easy to safeguard important stuff and pass along giant-sized files." -- written by pcworld.com

I use 8gb DVDs but you have to have a burner than can burn DVD RAM.
Another option is a external hardrive.
I pickedup a 40GB Firelite drive for $90 from best buy.
I backup all my important files on that also.
it has the advantage that I can take it to work with me.

Get an external USB drive. They are cheap, offer lots of storage, and overall a great soltuion. Check out http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?N=2010150414+1035907839&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=414 for a list of some.

.. purchase an AVOX Jukebox. (http://www.cluboc.net/reviews/multimedia/Vantec_AVOX/Index.htm)
.. it's basicall a portable hard drive (2.5" laptop HD) .. with a built in video card.
.. not only would you have a backup of all your music, you can take it anywhere. Just plug it into any TV and you can play all your music, movies, and pictures.
.. best purchase I have ever made.
