In the conditioned world there are innumerable so-called benefits. However, in reality there are none unless the individual has sought out and completed their personal "Rights of Passage". Unless an individual has un-conditioned themselves and freed the yoke of judgment and expectation of others they share the same environments with. Unless an individual has truly researched and learned that immediate self-gratifications, greed, apathy, and narrow-mindedness are paramount to be reconciled with. Unless an individual has learned the ability of acceptance, of “acceptance”, and the true manifestation of unconditional love there really are no benefits worth savoring for they are all folly.

Every stage in life has benefits that are unique to it. As for being an adult...
1. You can pursue whatever you'd like, without caring overmuch whether your parents approve.
2. You have the experience, hopefully, to know that there are some things best not persued.
3. You realize just how little the adults really know. Believe me, this is a benefit.
4. If you are truly wise, you can become a kid and remain an adult.

There are so many more. People here have covered some of them.

PS...I like utility bills. They smell like freedom.

I can't think of one. Is there a benefit to being an adult? I don't think so. When your a child everything is a piece of cake. All you have to worry about is getting your homework done on time or which jeans to wear with that top. Everything is paid for you, such as utility bills, phone bills, car payment, car repairs, grocery's, etc.etc.... Ohh, to be a kid again......:)

You realize that it is far better to be a kid and if your are truly wise you can create or atleast influence a writing of your new childhood. And you are not in any hurry, especially to group up. You accept what is, simply is?

in america, they include not having a bedtime, not having to listen to and/or deal with your parents and family, and not having to eat what you dislike, but the list goes on and on. sadly, there are equal, if not greater, downsides.
