Yes, her mother's name was Destiny Hope, and she is Destiny Hope, later just Miley, then her mother died of cancer when Miley was little. now she has a "mom" named Tish.

yes she did i am a miley cyrus expert i luv miley so much i am a huge fan and i am going to mileys concert yay but yes her mom did die wen miley was younger her step moms name is tish she likes her step mom miley was born on november 23 1992 fave color is pink fave sublect is boys and writing fave sport is cheerleading she wanted to be a mascot for some reason wen she was younger told u i am na expert lol but anyways i feel bad for miley bc i would miss my mom too but miley is very pretty and a great actress and singer so i think she will b okay but i wpuldnt blame her to be sad

that means she is still alive
