If you are in a county or town, report it to the fire department as public endangerment. I had the same problem which eventually gave me asthma attacks. Since your neighbor apparently does not care how his fires affect you, it's up to you to alert authorities.

***What can I do about a neighbor who burns their grass clippings like a smudge every week? ***
If he is breaking no law it's not much you can do, however. You could get yourself a wheel barrel and when he begins to burn his stuff, wheel your stuff to be burned over there to be burned also. Stand down wind and talk to him, men find that annoying after a while. Be friendly if you can. Pretty soon he is going to recognize more work when he burns and he will start to do it less often. He might even start burning at times when you are not around so that he can avoid the extra work.
Have fun with the situation,be a good neighbor, ahahahaha.
Good Luck.

I'd say go to the officials and make a complaint. If the wind is blowing into your yard, you shouldn't have to suffer. Also, if there is any law against burning stuff, enforce that.
Next, a lawyer might be the next possible resolution. It's unfortuante your neighbor is not respecting your requests. I have some just like that and it's a pain, believe me.
The temporary solution is to find out when he's going to burn the junk and avoid going out or leave for a few hours. Terrible we have to make all the changes.

You should start smoking. Then it won't bother you so much. Start with Marlboro. Then break the filters off and smoke those for about a week. Then two unfiltered Camels at a time. Soon you'll be lovin' the neighbor's campfires!

Just keep your window shut while he is burning. It sounds as though the more you ask the more he is going to continue doing it. You have to chalk it up to being out of your control with that one.

If it is not against the law there is not much you can do. You have ask him nicely and that didn't work, short of moving to a new neighborhood, I can't think of anything.

If you are in the USA there are laws against burning; turn the guy into the authorities.

Ask if you can have the grass clippings for your mulch pile. It's great to feed your flowers with.

If there isn't a law against it, and no deed restrictions... too bad, I guess. Just close your windows.
