Katie is a nice lady, which I am sure will do a good job bringing up CBS ratings for a while and thats why they hired her. Unfortunately, what CBS fails to realize is that for most people, the era of evening news is over. People who have cable can watch the news whenever they want, which is good for me since I don't make it home till around 8 pm. Only people like my wifes parents, who are retired and refuse to get cable will be watching on a regular basis, but maybe thats the audience they are looking to get to watch.

I usually do not watch CBS News! But I will check Katie out a couple of times to see how she is doing! I may be surprised and decide to keep watching on a regular basis!

No. She'll probably give it a bump in the ratings in the beginning; most people will be curious to see how good/bad she is.
But, I didn't watch her on Today and I don't intend to watch her on CBS.

After so many years of her being everyone's perky wakeup girl, I just do not think she possesses the gravitas to pull the sole evening anchor job. She will not have the opportunity to joke around with coanchors. I just do not think this is a good or appropriate career move for her. Can you say Norvilled?

She might help at first. I won't watch; no one should get paid that much to read news.
