Pop pretty much covers every category in music. Pop music is any music anybody would listen to for entertainment. My favorite song that was made this year is Prelude by AFI. That song is sometimes stuck in my head.
I also feel I need to mention a song that was made last year but is only now coming on the radio: Far Away by Nickelback.

Well 2006 isn't over yet so I wouldn't know the answer to that question until I'm in the 2007 and able to look back on 2006 and evaluate which song I would have considered my favorite.
Unless you meant, 'In 2006 - so far' then I would have answered your question but it doesn't seem that's what you asked.
