When I was little. It was like the Little Mermaid but the girl was blonde. It is an older movie maybe even older than Disneys version of the little mermaid. I can't really remember any specific details. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? Do you remember it? If you do what is it called? Who made it.. and what is it about exactly? If you could even find a website about it that would be great! In fact it might just get you 10 points... And I do choose best answers.

ok I know it wasn't any other disney movie like sleeping beauty and it was an animated film. I wish I could give more details. Chances are those under 18 will have no idea.

It is not Splash. I think it might have even also been called The Little Mermaid.

Ok... the only other animated Little Mermaid was 26 minutes long.... and released in 1979.
There isn't much else to say...except that it was based on a Hans Christian Anderson story.
It is currently not available to buy, thise movie has been discontinued in most parts of the world. However, certain distributors are still selling official factory-sealed videos through amazon and ebay.

it's probably an earlier animated version of 'the mermaid', which is based on the hans christen andersen story of the same name. oh, and by the way, disney's the little mermaid is also based on that same story by andersen. i watched many short animated films of that nature in the 80s. very few are available on dvd. sometimes you can get lucky and find someone who has it on vhs through ebay or amazon.

Was it also a Disney cartoon? There was a movie called "Splash" that starred Darryl Hannah as a mermaid, but it wasn't a cartoon.

I think I remember something like that. I remember a blond mermaid named Marina who fell in love with a human prince (don't know his name). She was turned into a human and if she could not make the prince fall in love with her, she turn into sea foam. The prince chose someone else and she was given a chance to turn back into a mermaid. She had to kill the prince and let his blood sprinkle her feet to get her fins back. She could not do it so she turned into sea foam.
