I turn all my clothes inside out! The real big tip here is not to dry them too much, that will fade clothing quicker than anything! Always dry on low heat if at all.

You are on the right tract. Turn them inside out wash with a mild detergent in cold water and dry 3/4 of the way on permanent press cycle and hang to finish drying.
If you has a gentle cycle you can even use that. The longer your Jeans are in the washer rubbing againt its self the more fade you will have.

Yes! Wash in cold water with the least amount of detergent needed and always turn them inside out. Also while they are new you can wash them in cold water and add a cup or two of vinegar, this will help set the dye from fading.

The inside-out and cold water thing will help, but most jeans will fade a little no matter what you do. Try Clorox bleach for colors. It thoroughly cleans without fading--I've even noticed brighter colors using it!

Wash them inside out in cold water with cheer detergent. You can also buy the denim rit dye and let your jeans all soak in the washer in the dye bath. You don't have to use the whole box. It just renews the color.

Cold water. Cheer also seems to prevent fading longer than other detergents I've used.

I was just gonna say without reading your description "Wash them in cold water, inside out." You got it right.
