I have had it pierced now for 2 months. When I first got it up to about a week ago it took up all of the space no the barbell. Now I can see some of the bar bell. It was infected once but now thats cleared up. It's a little bit red and not sore at all. I clean it withsea salts. Could it be rejecting it completely? Or did it maybe just move to the spot it wants it to be?

WOW....almost every answer so far has been wrong in one way or another! jared-there is no chance of skin cancer from a navel piercing! debra more rational-the piercing takes about 9 months to fully heal due to the area and how much abuse it takes. rejection can be 'diagnosed' by a red line almost, a visible showing of where the jewelry originally sat to where it currently sets. (this may not be noticed till later on if rejection is the problem). drea NEVER use ointments, the are not for puncture wounds-piercings are puncture wounds. and soaks should be 2x a day for 10min-this promotes blood flow to the area and loosens crusties which could be pulled into the piercing and cause infection. tracey again with the ointment-especially antifungal..it's not a fungus! kelee-yay a sane person. curlie infections are caused by an introduction of bacteria-more likely than not your friend couldn't keep her dirty hands off the piercing, some people dont use the soaks and just leave it be but I will guarantee that was not the cause of the infection.

The inflammation may have just completely gone away and now it looks much smaller on the barbell. Keep an eye out for signs of infection, as there's always a chance. If it keeps giving you problems, have it checked out!

Sea salt is okay but not daily.

it is going to heal up interior 2 weeks in the course of the conventional procedure time yet in case you're taking a double dose of vit b complicated on a daily basis it is going to shrink your therapeutic time notably.......those type of superficial open wound can worsen a lot so the faster they heal the more effective. Vit b complicated isn't volatile in a double dose because that is water soluble and doesnt get saved in the body

The first thing I would do is not use sea-salts on it. My friend washed hers with sea salt and it got really infected. My piercer told me to wash it with Dial Anti-Bacterial soap. I have not had ONE problem with mine and I never used sea salt. If that doesn't work I would go to a doctor or back to where you got it pierced. If its a serious problem its not something you can fix yourself.

Your body may be rejecting it. I know someone and theirs took six months to work its way out. Try some antifungal cream on it that may help the soreness.

I think maybe the artist didn't go deep enough with it. Go back to where you had it done and have them look at it and if it needs to heal and be redone make sure they do it for nothing.

Makes no difference. If it is giving you that much trouble, itis time to get rid of it. You certainly don't want to end up with skin cancer and that is one of the dangers.
