he was diagnosed with lymphoma today... i know thats a form of cancer and thats scary but the guy is a HUGE part of the sox future... will he ever pitch again? anyone have any details about treatments and how long it takes to recover?

he was demoted to Thiple-A Pawtucket and that s when he got the news, and they said that if everthing stays on course they said that he could be pitching next season

He's got a treatable type of lymphoma and he'll be fine for next season. Of course the Red Sox wont be fine especially after Papelbon hurt his arm today.

With proper treatment, Jon will be cured of the disease and may well be ready to pitch again next season. Let's hope he gets better. If he pitches again, that will be a bonus!!

Next year at the earliest, it depends on how aggressive the lymphoma is.
