I think we are getting wiser all the time. If Kennedy, Cuba & the cold war didn't finish us off...

I think it is too late to become wise now. Besides, there are over 6 billion people on this planet, no one will get wise about wars. Yes, the world will end eventually, but unless a nuclear war wipes out the planet, then we are safe for a while. I'm just happy I won't be alive when the world ends, unless that nuclear war happens.

I'm not too worried about the world ending really, whether we "get smart" about the wars and environment or not because of one simple fact...the Earth has been through ten times worse. If you think about it, asteroids, ice age, multiple volcano eruptions, and all that are worse than a pop can flying out a car window by any means. The Earth has many solutions to every problem we may create. Sure, the Earth as we know it may change, but humans can adapt eventually.

The planet killer 1950DA is on a collision course 877 years from now, Apophis will be hitting around 2036 but may not be an extinction level event, the super volcanoes, the undetected 10 km asteroid, the irreversible effects of global warming, the accidental launch of nuclear weapons, besides the astronomical certainty of the supernova of our sun in 4 billion years....are all swords of Damacles hanging over our heads.
With so many threats, why worry about the future, just live for the moment....

You talk of the world, not the earth.
The man made world, the power struggle, the economics and the human way of life may end. It depends on the human beings of course. This is their home and what they do with it will determine whether their world will end or not.
In today's world, have you realised that murderers and rapists are roaming the streets free, in huge mercedes or SUVs or lincolns or whatever and the power is by how much money you have.
Do you know how much poverty exists because of too much money? People are hungry because there is abundance of food? Yeah I know what I am saying.
Whether we will get wise is up to us. Too many criminals around. Who is going to make them wisen up for punishment?
Who is going to tell United Nations off? Yes United Nations is part and parcel of the criminal activites in the world. Who is going to be in charge of fixing the chaos in the world?
Just because we sit in nice homes and nice countries and nice jobs says nothing for us. The spiritual energy in the world is destroyed and it has to be fixed or death to human kind is definitely determined.
Terrorists are building nuclear bombs and raping the minds of the innocent with fear and threats.
Present day world which should have realised the problems is sitting smug.
How criminal.

Humans have existed for a very long time and we haven't learned very much with regards to wars and the environment. We are literally killing this planet with our trash and pollution. Wars are being raged everyday around the globe. So many countries are threatening to use nuclear weapons to have their agendas met-they have obviously forgetten Hiroshima. Yes, the world will end and it will be mankind that bears that notoriety!

I don't want the world to end, but it says that it will in the Bible. It says this: "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct, and godliness.
(2 Peter 3:10,11)
I really don't want anything like this to ever happen, because I just got my life back together: I met the love of my life, and we had a baby together, so now, we're a family. I just can't bear the thought of that one day, all of this is going to be over.

The world will not end unless we get smacked with a planet-busting asteroid or the sun goes nova.
OUR civilization may end and we may even become extinct, but the planet is much tougher than you think. Even a nuclear winter will not kill the Earth, just the people and animals on it. Eventually life will reappear, but we won't be there to see it.
Fame is a fleeting thing....

Your world will end the day you die. Other than that the world will be around for at least the next 4 to 5 billion years.

The world will not 'end'. 'We, the people using the resources of this planet' will be extinguished soon after the next big asteroid hits the planet...
