Someone asked a real good question about BET last night, which brought up some interesting points. A little history, BET was started in the 80's as an outlet for showing Black entertainment. Some of you that are older will tell you that you hardly saw a Black or Brown face on TV in the early 80's but there was a few shows. (Diff'rent Strokes, The Facts of Life) MTV and BET are sister stations with the same owner (Viacom) I personally would would like to see BET and also MTV to change thier programming, do you? yes, no, explain?

For the most part I don't watch BET anymore because of all the rumpshaking videos. I'm tired of the way Black women are depicted in those videos. I do like their Gospel Video show that comes on Sunday. I miss the programming they had in the eighties and nineties. MTV used to be about music, but now all they show are those stupid reality shows. They both could stand to improve the quality of their programs.

I think it should be about a VARIETY OF music again, instead of the stupid shows--MTV, that is. Maybe then I would start watching it again.
