Hopefully no, I hope the Yankees do so bad during the last few months of the season so that the Red Sox will catch up from their 8 or so game behind standing.

Curse of old age more like it. The starting staff for Boston is ancient. Most of the starting 9 not that much younger. Happens to vet teams. A score of injuries at the worst time and it sunk the Sox. The Yanks have been battling injuries all year long for the same reason. Thier injuries were just more scattered. Older teams are going to have injury problems 9 times out of 10 and if you don't have a deep bench those injuries are going to kill you.
So best bet for Boston is to get younger as they already have the deepest bench in baseball. Only problem is half of them are injured too LOL.

As you saw in 2004, there was never a curse, it was just a swing of 86 terrable season, crappy players, stupid things happening. Lets face it. GOOD TEAMS WIN NOMATTER WHAT. The Red Sox were bad over the past 1.5 months. If you do believe in the curse of the bambino, do you think some schmoe named johnny damon will ever be compared to the one and only babe ruth? Damon's good, but he is no babe ruth.

I wouldn't compare the trading of Babe Ruth to the trading of Damon. Damon is not going to ever be an all-time great and he wanted too much for too many years while the Babe Ruth trade was a trade for a small amount of money for debatably the most influential player in the history of baseball (besides Jackie Robinson). The two moves...although both bad are nothing in comparison to one another.

Give it a rest. Damon? The guy is a box of rocks with a bad arm. Hardly worthy of a curse.

It merits watching, but I doubt it will last nearly as long as the Curse of the Bambino....Something to think about, although Damon isn't 5% of the player that Ruth was.

No, there is no curse of Johnny Damon. The Yankees/Steinbrenners themselves are sufficient to be a curse upon the league by their very success. (That is not a criticism of their success, which is a fact.)

I think that whole curse thing is the dumbest sports thing I've ever heard. Its just a matter of not having a team good enough to win the championship for many years.
