It happens to me every once in a while. I'll be laying in bed, and right when I drift off to sleep I hear someone call my name.
Now the weird thing is, I'm totally alone at night. Ever experience this?

It's called Hypnagogia. It's normal. Hypnagogia: is a term coined by Alfred Maury for the transitional state between wakefulness and sleep. "People may imagine their own name called or a doorbell ringing. Snatches of imagined speech are common. While typically nonsensical and fragmented, these speech events can occasionally strike the individual as apt comments on – or summations of – their thoughts at the time. They often contain wordplay, neologisms and made-up names. Hypnagogic speech may manifest as the subject’s own ‘inner voice’, or as the voices of others: familiar people or strangers. More rarely, poetry or music is heard." There are also things about sight as well as sound.

Yes, I have. On occasion and sometimes I recognize the voice and sometimes not. If I know the voice, I get a little superstitious, thinking maybe they are hurt and really calling my name. But so far nothing bad has happened.

I hear all kinds of noises when I'm alone at home at night. Personally, I hate sleeping alone. I'm 6'5" 240lbs and get scared of noises! haha... But yeah, I think your norms.

yes it does happen to me too,kinda freaky but i think it is the ghost that lives in my apartment ,dont worry it is a good one but it loves to wake me up

yes, ive had that when i was young. And i cried to my mom because I was hearing a guy's name and my mom couldnt hear it..yikes..
