depends on what u are looking for..if u are talking fantasy football it is close....LJ rushed for 1800+ yards and close to 20 tds in only starting 9 games last year.... he had the best offensive line and fullback in the nfl last year and this year he loses 2 or his offensive linemen (1 being willie roaf, a pro bowl tackle for 10 years running) and his pro bowl fullback....so it is not sure if he can rush for the nfl single season yardage record- as many have proposed.... he also caught about 35 passes last year and this is better than alexander who mainly rushes the ball (little receptions with SA)..... finally, alexander is the returning MVP with the single season record for TDs and a healthy dose of yards also... he is very solid back and the only thing that is a knock against last year is he has lost a pro bowl tackle named hutchinson, which will certainly not help his cause...he is older than LJ by 3 years so that might figure into fantasy too if u play in a keeper league or not...finally, being older, he has more seasons under him so he is undoubtedly will be more of an injury/wearing out early risk....
so if i were going to rank them... i would put larry johnson #1 bc he has such a huge upside and potential to have the best year by a running back ever......and SA as number 2 bc he is stable and will not be a bad pick (i.e. low risk).....

SHAUN alexander is better, he's more proven, and IMO, you have to be consistant before you're truly good (I'm looking at you Bo Jackson!)

Probably SA but LJ proved himself to da NFL last year.
If I were to take some one in fantasy it would be LJ.
