Is there a way to close the void?

You just have to give yourself closure and be done with it. Realize that the friendship and that part of your life is over and move on. Open yourself up to new people and new friends. You will eventually fill the void and the sooner you close that part of your life off, the sooner the void will disappear.

Yes. Look back at the friendship -- list the good things that came from it, then list the negatives. If the negatives outweigh the positives, consider yourself lucky and try to avoid those personality traits in your next friends.

Rejoice in the happy memories, and rest assured that when most friendships come to a sudden end, there is usually a reason. Perhaps that person is moving in a direction you really don't want to go. Perhaps they are trying to be something they are not and aren't being true to themselves. All in all, you are probably better off.

Mourn the loss, then move on. Relationships evolve. Dwelling on what used to be might stop you from seeing what COULD be. So open your heart again.

Good luck.

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and remember the good times you had with your friend fondly. Try not to be bitter too long, because you might miss out on another good friendship.

find another one.

I realizes half way through senior year, that half of my alleged friends didn;t actually like me.

As it turned out, the people I had been pushing away for years were then and are now, en years later, my best friends
