What would you prefer that they say? Hey you going somewhere crappy on your holiday? lol Geez, lighten up, it's just a nice and polite way to have a conversation. Kinda sad for you that you think anyone who is trying to be civil and nice to use has some ulterior motive. How bitter is that?

I think it's cos they want you to tell them so they can smugly think in their head.. well I'm going somewhere better.. it's NICER than where you're going... Human nature to think your choice of holiday destination, car, home, children are better than other peoples.
