I dont want to just reset the settings, i wanna reset it to the factory bin. I have a Asus motherboard and i tried to manualy update the bios but im sure i used the wrong bin update cause now i cant automaticaly boot from cds that should boot during startup. I know i can take the battery out of the mobo but i think that just resets the settings and not the actual bin version.
Any help would be apperciated.

-Update- i just wanna restore the original bios bin version. And what did you guys mean flash it. I can get into something called flash. I just press something like Alt+F1 or somthin like that.

first boot to the m dos then insert the new bios system u want into the flopy thing after just copy over the bios u have

Go into your BIOS on the last page SAVE goto set to defaults and save that sets back to factory settings if it is just you want to boot from cd at start up go to the page before the above boot options change as follows 1st boot device cd/dvd
2nd boot device floppy
3rd boot device hard drive and save
You should also make a back up copy of your original BIOS on floppy before you update them in case the up date is wrong you can then restore to the original you should NOT flash BIOS as this re programs the chip and if wrong is NOT reversable and means you have to buy a new motherboard hope to have been a help to you

What you need to do is see if the motherboard supports an emergency boot block flash, usually through a floppy disk. Otherwise there is a more dangerous option known as hot flashing which requires a properly functioning BIOS chip from the same model motherboard.

Bad update that screwed the binary in the BIOS Flash memory? Not a good thing, if you can't get to the flash utility again you have little chance to restore.
Heard before of running 8-bit ISA cards can get you to the utility; restore it to a working bin image.

on the motherboard, check the reset cmos jumper...your pc must be off...reset cmos...back it again and open your pc...
