Okay, but when I watch shows like America's Home Videos, I don't think there's a single episode when some poor chap doesn't take blow to the nuts and the audience doesn't double over with laughter.

This is certainly quite a double standard, though it's not one that I have really noticed until now.
I guess it makes sense to argue that it just goes along with the fact that men are seen as less delicate than women, and therefore should put up with being abused. We can thank feminists for that belief (the bad ones, not the women-should-be-equal type).
But, maybe it doesn't hurt as much for a woman to get hit in the breast as it does for a man to get hit in his private parts. Seeing as how I can only identify with the guy's position, I really don't know.

Well that's because they usually add sound effects in shows like that. But I bet it's not so funny to the person it's actually happening to.

Inferiority because of the fact of this the viewer feels extra ideal to the guy because of the fact he's in soreness and he or she isn't. that's the comparable concept as guffawing while somebody falls. adult males giggle while women get kicked interior the crotch or the boob. And adult males giggle while their acquaintances get kicked interior the crotch. that's not in basic terms women. i in my opinion giggle because of the fact i know it hurts and that i haven't any theory how else to react. that's like a apprehensive giggle.

Who said anything about it being funny? If you've ever experienced being hit in the genital area, you wouldn't think it is so funny. Only a sicko would call it funny.
