Why does America (White America, neoconservatives and the Republican Party) slam RAP music so much when Rock music is filled with demonic, satanic symbology.
I can think of hundreds of examples but for now I'll just mention DISTURBED, DROWNING POOL and gruge rock such as GWAR.

Rap music doesn't have people going out and tatooing all types of psychotic **** on themselves and killing animals or doing retarded things.

Rap and gang violence are not the same thing. Rap doesn't force people to kill anyone - the scoi-economic conditions that those individuals are living in plays the majority role in that. YOU CAN NO MORE CLAIM RAP CAUSES VIOLENCE THAN YOU CAN CLAIM VIDEO GAMES CAUSE VIOLENCE.

I'm a White Male and I love rap. I notice that all its detractors are solidly White, OLD and right wing.
One day I was in my car and a racist White asshole called me a "w!gger" - it made me angry cause I don't normally experience anti-back racism directed at myself.

Many people don't want to see Black men getting rich and powerful especially if they can influence the psychologies of minds worldwide. Japanese teens (among many worldwide) LOVE rap and emulate hip hop/ black fashion.

If Rap was solidly White then there would be no problem with it. I see exactly what you are talking about and I'm glad a White man like yourself can see the difference in how Black inventions and White inventions are treated.
Whether or not you personally like rap, It isn't fair to scrutinize it simply because it is an art form and a form of expression.

I applaud your vision for taste.

Rock has paid its dues long ago. It's been demonized far longer than there's even been rap "music." Yes, rap has come out of soci-economic conditions, but so did metal and rock! Just look at two of the founding bands Judas Priest and Black Sabbath, both came from Brimingham, England, a very poor steel manufacturing town. Rock/metal is a very visual thing and artists typically express themselves in a visual medium. Yes there is shock-rock, but artists like Alice Cooper and GWAR wouldn't have survived this long if their music sucked. If they were all image, they would've been working in fast food long ago.

Rock is still demonized today, but rap is newer therefore more dangerous in the eyes of the public. Rap and rock do have similar themes in them, sex, drugs. But there is a big difference, the difference is that rock music typically has a melody and they are musicians not just street poets.

Your diatribe sort of makes the case as to why some people don't go for rap -Much of it is too violent . I'll be willing to bet that those who are playing it in their cars with the volume up to the max so that every moose up in Canada can hear it , don't realize that it is raising your blood pressure and causing permanent damage to your hearing . In ten years , when even a hearing aid won't help you , you'll be wondering why .Why force that on other people ? Would your own mother tolerate it ? The fact that another driver was annoyed with rap-could mean that you had the volume up past what the law allows in public- so-when you are out soliciting attention , by your behavior , don't get mad when you get it .

Music is very personal. Everyone is different, and it only makes sense that everyone has different taste in music.
The music either speaks to you or isn't doesn't. If you like rap then feel comfortable in your choice. If someone else thinks that rap sucks, then why should that effect your choice. Just be glad you are not on a long road trip listening to his old 8 track with the windows down singing Louie Louie. He deserves to be as happy with his choice of music as your are yours.

no prob w/rap per se,but so many people who listen to music-not just rap,but often enough-seem to play it at a decibel level that can be heard, for example ,inside the house as neighbors drive past for work at 5 or 6 am.doesnt matter if its rap,or whatever, but if i can hear it in evry room of myhouse so that it wakes me up,or i cant get to sleep in the first place,so that infants are awakened from naps betweem apartment walls (very frustrating to have a fussy, overtired baby reawaken shortly after its FINALLY fallen asleep),if i am stopped at a light, all car windows closed, and the car next to me blots out the conversation ive been having, then, whatever the genre, its too loud.rap is particularly dreaded bcause the throbbing bass goes right thru u.by the way,u dont have 2 b old 2 hate loud music,in my teens and 20's,i NEVER went to clubs, loud sounds annoy me.it has to do with ur nervous system.outer directed people seem to enjoy loud sounds, inner directed people, much quieter. go ahead and play any music u want, but please be considerate of ur neighbors.if i can hear it inside my house with all the windows and doors closed, and if there is no room in my house into which i can retreat without hearing it,its too loud.

Because I don't hear rock music from cars 2 miles, or even 2 blocks away. The city is loud enough without people adding to the racket on purpose. I don't care care what you listen to as long as I don't have to hear it.

Throw a quarter at my BMW and I'll chase you down and beat the living **** out of you and then make you eat your oversized stereo system, asshole! Can you feel me?

you're making great factors and that i thoroughly believe you. I even have yet to work out a rap magazine supply attractiveness to rock. in spite of the shown fact that on the Rolling Stones magazine they placed rap artists on the conceal and contain them on rock and rolls astounding artists record. Yeah you have an astounding factor. I pay attention to rap additionally yet rock is greater my type and decision. the reality that Eminem made that record and not rock legends pink Floyd hell yeah it is absurd. regrettably although maximum issues often prove this way.

Rap is attacked so much because black people created it and it truly is the voice of black people. Just like Rock and Roll and Jazz, when they were first created (by blacks). The try to silence Rap just like the drums which were brought over from Africa by black people and used to send a message of freedom to our people.

If you've noticed, I've noted that the roots of Rock began with black people and Rock and Roll. Much of Rock today is merely Rock and Roll with all of the soul and life sucked out of it. I fear that rap is heading in that direction because it is currently governed by white record execs that have formulas for money making. Therefore choking the artistry out of hip hop. What kind of rap do you like and what are your reasons.

In addition, I've noticed that most people who hate rap only know of gangster rap because it's the only type that European america choses to make an issue out of.

I truly think that most of white america is against rap and the the brothers who blare rap lyrics because they are at heart, against black people. So keep throwing your quarters! And hit a couple of ignorant folks who've answered your question so ignorantly! The damn racists!

I find that rap beats are similar to rock beats. You know, that funk rock. I play bass and guitars. I like making my own tunes to their beats. I prefer the black beat influence on rock'n'roll.

I lmainly listen to rock. From Black Sabbath to Greenday. There are lots of themes in Rock . I don't constantly play the same stuff. It depends on my mood. I see a lot of albinos here like you. It's fine to like your music, but you don't have to change your mannerisms and speech to "blend" coz it's the worst camouflage ever. Word- as you say.

You know if you hit my car or me or anyone in my family I will slap you till your face turns red and then spend the next 5 minutes trying to putll my foot out of your @ss. After which I would sue your @ss off and have you jailed till court date for attacking me. I mean who would they believe you me. I mean I'm driving a BMW and you are in a lowrider with no backseat only speakers that was blasting so loud when you attacked me with that RAP crap going Boom Boom Boom and no one could even talk to their kids in their car with the windows rolled up..

It is not the music that people play it is the jerks that like that kind of music that is the problem.

Get a real car or truck and turn down the music and get a real job and get a family and you will understand how out of line you are and how respectful you are NOT.
