Well probably close to your work if you've found work yet. You want to move close to a trolley stop or a bus stop. Make sure the stop is really close to your house or apt. so you won't have to walk far. I use to walk 3 or 4 blocks in North Park to the bus stop and it was kinda a pain. The trolley is great cos it gets you across town fast. But maybe you want to look at the type of neighborhoods too. Theres some scummy places in El Cajon and east san diego and national city and almost every place in North Park has roaches - unless it's newer and maintained by profesional bug people. There's a lot of places to work in the Mira Mesa - Miramar area if you can find a place to live around there. San Diego is a great place to live. I miss it a lot. Good Luck.

Bankers Hill area. close enought to the trolley to get you anywhere from TJ to past qualcomm stadium, or all the way out to Santee. plenty of connections to the bus lines.
also the rents there are more reasonable than other areas of SD
and, there is a little market near 1st and Juniper that has a real butcher, and reasonable prices on meat.

I would stay where I am whereever that may be. You can't make it in San Diego without a car unless your boss will let you stay at the office. I lived there for ten years. Stayed in Lemon Grove, La,Mesa, Mission Beach many years ago. My friend bought a house in La Mesa many years ago for $34,000.00 and recently sold it for $400,000.00. The only improvements he made was adding a swimming poole..

Without a car? How do you plan to get around? Hope you've got LOTS of money, because $75,000 a year can get you a rented apt. but nothing fancy. I'm serious. You won't survive working fast food or telemarketing, so I hope you have something better lined up. Or maybe you're a college student? Hope so and good luck!

Live within walking distance of the trolley if possible. San Diego is spread out and it is difficult without a car.
