The original was the worst film I've ever seen, with Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon coming a close second.
I've no desire or intention of watching this one.

This is not the best movie Nicolas Cage has ever made. The story starts off with quite a heavy and brutal car accident and that is about the only interesting scene in the whole movie. It's Cage that has to do all of the acting. The other actors don't seem to care much about it. Also there is a constant flashback throughout the movie of the car accident in the first sense of the film but at the end of the flick I couldn't quite see the connecting to the other events that go on.
I also find it totally unbelievable that Cage starts the investigation on the island all by himself. He isn't even a detective so he has no jurisdiction to be wandering around, questioning people and sneaking around in their houses.
Even though the ending is quite surprising and might shock the viewer a bit, it still doesn't make up for the 90 minutes of rubbish that already struck you.
Summary: The trailers and posters of the "The wicker man" are just like a image off a MC Donalds Big Mac on a billboard. It looks better in theory than it is in practice !

I saw the first one when I was a teenager it gave me nightmares for weeks, so have a feeling I will not be bothering to go out of my way to watch the re-make.
I was OK until they burnt him in the wicker man.

It was good until the ending, I hated the ending. They should have changed that story a bit.
