I'm currently living by writing on line, does that count?...

erm, you ought to learn to read between the lines a little before you try to write some. I was suggesting that I am living VICARIOUSLY by writing to people on line. Sorry for the confusion.

I don't think there is a site that pays for contributions either in journalism or literature, as I would've been drawn to it like a moth to a flame. Most dotcom companies that need editorial input use freelance editors to do so, though there are also a few agencies that take on projects and present them to subscribed jobseekers. You might not necessarily need to be a freelancer for that. A good example of this, you can find here..

Unfortunately however, I do not know of siclike services in Britain. To get articles flowing out and money coming in, your best bet is to become registered as a freelancer, promote yourself on your own website and contact lots of companies on that basis. Check the Media section of The Guardian each week, as the amount of listed vacancies in your field especially is staggering there.
