Show the coaches how bad you want it. Don;t be afraid to tell them that you want a spot and show them you are there for business...Always hustle and always run the drills through to the end!!
Good Luck

I'll answer the question. Here's how you know if the coach like you and is trying to get you on the team. The coach will semi-consistently recommend certain things to you to make you better, things that could give you an edge if you execute them correctly. These will most likely be one-on-one conversation, either on the floor, or in the locker room or where ever. Take the words of advice to hard and work like hell to do them just as he or she says.

Well a coach always appreciates an attentive, hard working player. Show your coach that you respect him/her, respect your teamates and a coach will appreciate you and highly consider you to make the team

May use you as an example. Make reference to how you are performing in a drill. Let you know you are doing a good job. The coach may try to connect with you by talking, ask you questions etc...

Like has nothing to do with it. Either you can and want to play, or you can't. In this politically correct era we are in, we shouldn't hurt anyone's feelings (@ssholes). Just about everyone makes whatever team in this day and age. When I was growing up, it took me four years to make the team. All my Dad said was "did you try hard?". "Just try harder next year." Geez, I'm not scarred for life!
